Download SpyShield 1.0 for MSN® Messenger and Windows® Messenger

Follow these easy steps to download SpyShield 1.0 for MSN® Messenger and Windows® Messenger.

Step 1: Verify that PGP® or GnuPG and MSN® Messenger or Windows® Messenger Are Installed

SpyShield uses PGP® or GnuPG to encrypt MSN® Messenger and Windows® Messenger instant messages, so you must have PGP® or GnuPG and either MSN® Messenger or Windows® Messenger installed on your machine.

• If PGP® is not installed on your machine, you can download PGP® without cost for personal, non-commercial use at http://web.mit.edu/network/pgp.html. The commercial version is available from Network Associates. SpyShield 1.0 has been tested with PGP® 6.5.8 and requires the PGP® command-line program. Alternatively, you can install GnuPG on your machine; for more information check out http://www.gnupg.org/.

• If MSN® Messenger or Windows® Messenger is not installed on your machine, you can download either messenger at http://messenger.msn.com/ for free.

Step 2: Download and Install SpyShield

1. Click the Download button below to download the SpyShield program (ssinstall.exe). The file is 104 KB.
2. The File Download window appears. Select Save this program to disk and click OK.
3. The Save As window appears. Select where you would like to save the file on your computer and remember this location. Click Save to start downloading the SpyShield program.
4. (Optional) After you download the SpyShield executable, you can verify its integrity using the signature file ssinstall.exe.sig. Verification of the file is not required to install the program, but it does assure you that the file you have downloaded has not been compromised. 5. When the download process is complete, double-click the ssinstall.exe file. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
